Pet Aquamation (Water-Based)
A Gentle Alternative to Traditional Cremation
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult moments a family can face. Families throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland choose aquamation because it offers a peaceful and natural return to the earth with significantly lower environmental footprint than traditional cremation.
Pet Aquamation Service
by Hereafter Pets
If you’re here, it likely means your heart is heavy. We understand. Pets are family. At Hereafter Pets, our role is not simply to provide a service, but to ensure your beloved companion is treated with the same respect and care we would want for our own pets.
We are a family owned facility in Abbotsford serving families throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. We are available when you need us, including evenings and weekends, because loss does not happen on a schedule.
Our Pet Aqumation Services
Also known as water cremation for pets or alkaline hydrolysis, aquamation is a soft, environmentally conscious alternative to flame-based cremation. Families throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland choose aquamation because it offers a peaceful and natural return to the earth with significantly lower emissions than traditional cremation.
Partitioned Aquamation
Partitioned aquamation allows multiple pets to be cared for during the same aquamation cycle while each pet remains individually separated within their own designated compartment. This ensures your pet’s remains are carefully kept separate and respectfully returned to your family.
Each pet is respectfully placed in a separate compartment within the aquamation chamber, ensuring individualized care throughout the entire process. Once complete, your pet’s remains are carefully processed and returned to you in the urn of your choice.
Every Private Cremation Includes:
- Individual partitioned process
- Careful identification and tracking procedures
- White sand-like remains returned to the family
- Urn selection options
- Compassionate handling throughout the process
- Ink paw print
- Ink nose print
- Fur and whisker clippings
This option is ideal for families who wish to keep their pet’s remains close and memorialize them at home.
Communal Aquamation
Communal aquamation allows multiple pets to be cared for together in the same process. Following aquamation, the remains are respectfully scattered by Hereafter Pets in a beautiful garden setting. This option provides a more affordable and environmentally friendly choice while still ensuring dignity and compassionate care.
Every Private Cremation Includes:
- Respectful communal process
- Environmentally conscious aftercare
- Thoughtful handling by our team
- Scattering in a peaceful memorial garden
- Compassionate handling throughout the process
- Ink paw print
- Ink nose print
- Fur and whisker clippings
Communal aquamation is often chosen by families seeking a simple and meaningful goodbye without the return of remains.

Pet Cremation
Pet cremation provides a respectful and meaningful way to honour the life of a beloved companion. Every pet entrusted to our care is treated with compassion, dignity, and the utmost respect throughout the entire process. Families can choose from private, partitioned, or communal cremation options to best reflect their wishes. We are here to guide you with care and transparency every step of the way.
Pet Terramation
Pet terramation is a natural aftercare process that gently returns your beloved companion to the earth through natural organic transformation. Rather than using fire or water, this natural process transforms organic material into nutrient-rich soil over time. It is an ideal choice for families who value environmental stewardship and a meaningful return to nature. Throughout the process, your pet receives the same compassionate care we provide with every service.
